It was a "Spiritual" return, not a "Physical" one; and it happened on "Pentecost".

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him
shall he appear the second time (beginning at Pentecost) without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28)

At death, Jesus was made to be sin; he who knew no sin, that we may be made the righteousness of God in him.

E D j..................Three important thing to notice in those scriptures, Notice the time period, end of the world and where they shall be gathered out of his (Jesus')kingdom and the righteous will shine forth after the separation takes place in where? the kingdom of their FATHER there are mentioned two kingdoms there, To me one is the thousand year rule of Jesus and the Saint as mentioned in revelations and the "end of the world" is at the end of that Period when he gives His kingdom to the FATHER at the end of the Millennial rein of Jesus and the Saints. IMO

"The Day of The LORD" is the "Feast of Tabernacles" (Link).
Jesus returned (in spirit form) on Pentecost. (John 14:23)

I believe we will see Jesus in his resurrected physical body when we have ours. (see 1John 3:2 and Isaiah 26:19)

Hi ED J.............Yes i do believe Jesus will return and rule this earth with the Saints for a thousand years ,on earth. Scripture clearly show this, he must rule until all enemies are put under his feet and then he turns (his ) kingdom over to GOD the FATHER, and takes his place beside all mankind, subject to the rule and authority of GOD'S WILL> This is also brought out in scriptures . IMO

ED J............Yes i do believe Jesus will return as a HUMAN Being and Separate the nation as a man separates the Sheep from the Goats, I also believe the Holy Days will be Kept in those days, I believe the Saints will experience a resurrection and be given Bodies with spirit added back into them and they as did Jesus will become a Living Souls again. and i believe it will be on this present earth that all this will take place, Jesus plainly told us what would take place on this earth at His return in detail. He did not return on the Day of Pentecost , But sent the Spirit of Truth to be (IN) all his true believers, I know what you are referring to is where Jesus Said to his disciples, " I will not leave you comfort less but will come to you again". But you need to see that, that was the HOLY SPIRIT speaking through Him and that Holy Spirit was going to return to the disciples on the Day of Pentecost not Jesus the Man , but Jesus the SON of MAN will return himself and rule this earth for a Thousand years with the Saint of GOD>
