I am curious what gematria that you all are using. None that I have seen seems to be Hebrew gematria. Are you using some kind of English conversion system?

I would like to share some specific things as to why I believe English Gematria has merit here.
First I want to share with you a clue why the Scriptures were written with the AKJV Bible in mind:

1 Cor 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two (Hebrew, Aramaic),
or at the most by three (Greek), and that by course; and let (AKJV Bible) one interpret.

interpret (1Cor.14:27) Strong's# G1329 διερμηνευετω  dierméneuó (dee-er-main-yoo'-o)
to explain thoroughly, by implication, to translate -- expound, interpret(-ation).

1) In the next post I will show how the Greek Gematria ties directly to English Gematria.
2) And in the following post I will show how Hebrew Gematria also ties to English Gematria.

In Rev 13:18 we see the word "number" repeated 3x - indicating that God intended χξς to be understood as a number.

...Fact #1. Put these 3 Greek letters - χξς - (600, 60, 6) into any internet Gematria calculator and you will get 666.
...Fact #2. God inspired John the Revelator to write these three Greek letters χξς in Revelation. (2Timothy 3:16)
...Fact #3. The translators translated - χξς - to the number 666 using Gematria (as it has no word meaning)

.............Conclusion:
.............God orchestrated the encoding of Gematria into the text of the bible (above facts)

I have not worked with English gematria. I am not necessarily dismissing it.

I do not come from the viewpoint that I believe that all of the NT was originally written in Greek. I think it was likely mostly in Hebrew or Aramaic and then quickly translated to Greek.

There is ample evidence by historians that Matthew was originally written in Hebrew, but I think that there is strong evidence that many of the other books in the NT were as well. I am of the opinion that Hebrew is the pure language. (Zeph 3:9) and that the further we depart from that pure one, the more impure the language is.

It would probably also be good for anyone following the thread to explain the distinction between a translation and transliteration.

To try to transliterate the Hebrew on the left above, it would be "YHVH Ha Elohim" which we might translate as Ya-Weh The God.

Elohim is a transliteration and GOD is a translation. I don't think that we can use English letters and convert that to a numerical number with part of the phrase and then translate the rest of the sentence and convert the translation to a numerical value.

Maybe I did not express that well. Of course we could do that. The inconsistency in the conversion process just bothers me personally, but people are certainly free to do it how they want.

To me, it just makes more since to go back to the original names, words and letters and use the numbers that have been associated with those letters for a very long time.

Hebrew is a root language and I just have much more confidence in the gematria associated with it and the relationship of various words in that language.

Again, I am not trying to be critical of anyone who decides to use English gematria. To me, it just makes better sense to go back to the pure language and start from there rather than a very recent form of a relatively recent language that is a combination of a whole lot of other languages. I hope all of that made sense.

I hope I have made these points a bit clearer.
My point being the AKJV Bible was encoded by God.
The numbers of both Hebrew and English bear this out.
Plus adding up the number totals of their names in English.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the clarity in the other post.

Some translate the vowel sounds in that way that you have shown, but that is based upon the vowels added later that correspond with Adonai. No doubt there are many opinions by qualified people on how The Tetragrammaton is pronounced.

It is interesting how those two letters, the ayin ע and the dalet ד are both enlarged in the Shema in Deut 6:4.
