(I'm watching D-Day on History Channel 2 (H2) while writing this.)
Today is June 6 and it is the 69th Anniversary of D-Day. It was at 06:00 on 6/6 that the invasion at the beaches of Normandy began. Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower did not originally plan a 666 alignment for the 'hell' that was to be D-Day, but GOD/nature aligned it through the weather. This situation has been greatly discussed by historians and was even an episode of the 'When Nature Changed History' series on History Channel.
"Eisenhower has the biggest dilemma of his military career." June 5, "Eisenhower makes his historic decision, 'The invasion is postponed for 24 hours' due to weather."
"'The weather is far too uncertain for the Allies to invade' - German advisers. 'The tides and the Moon are all wrong.' German Commander Rommel decides to go to Germany for his wife's 50th Birthday."
"It's nothing short of a miracle" - Allied Meteorologist James Stagg. "Mercilessly, almost miraculously, there's a break coming in the weather" an Allied Commander. "OK, we'll go" - Ike.
"The Germans have been caught completely off guard. Rommel is hundreds of miles away... The gods are smiling on the Allies."
.
Synchronism: 6/6/13 08:48 "Allied Meteorologist James Stagg played a key role in D-Day" - '10 Days To D-Day' on History Channel 2 (H2)
