The word gematria comes from the Greek 'geōmetriā' from which our English word geometry is derived. In Spanish, geometry is also spelled 'geometria'.

Isopsephy
(pronounced /ˈaɪsəsɛfi/; ἴσος isos meaning 'equal' and ψῆφος psephos meaning 'pebble') is the Greek word for the practice of adding up the number values of the letters in a word to form a single number. The early Greeks used pebbles arranged in patterns to learn arithmetic and geometry. A Latin word for 'pebbles' is 'calculi', the origin of the word 'calculate'.

Isopsephy is related to Gematria, the same practice using the Hebrew alphabet, and the ancient number systems of many other peoples (for the Arabic alphabet version, see Abjad numerals, hisab al-jummal). A Gematria of Latin-script languages was also popular in Europe from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and indeed its legacy remains in numerology and Masonic symbolism today^[1].

In researching the history of Greek isopsephy/isophsephia (gematria) - the alphanumeric quality of a language - we are pointed to Pythagoras, the Pythagoreans, and Plato. There is an ancient Greek motto: "God is ever a geometer" (ἀεὶ ὁ Θεὸς ὁ μέγας γεωμετρεῖ), whereas, counting the letters of the words (3,1,4,1,5,9) reveals the first six digits of pi (3.14159). This confirms that 'Step 1' of Greek gematria was/is simply counting the number of letters in a word/name/phrase with that number having connections and symbolic meaning⁷, and that 'Step 2' is the alphanumeric sum of a word/name/phrase with that number having connect₇₄ions and symbolic meaning. Hebrew, Arabic, and English gematrias also use these Steps 1 & 2, i.e. Liberty⁷ Bell⁴ and John⁴ Hancock⁷. July 4th = 7/4 and GOD³=7_4. The simple fact that the words 'God' and 'One' have three letters and Christians traditionally think of the One God as the Holy⁴ Trinity⁷ is no 'coincidence'!

'Coincidentally', this number of 74 is the only discrepency I found when I compared the Dead Sea Scrolls Masoretic Text. The DSS has Moses, Aaron and his four sons + 70 elders = 76. Huh!

Sacred geometry is widely known to be a major aspect of Freemasonry. Less widely known, though practiced by many Masons and non-Masons is sacred gematria. Gematria is the Greek word for geometry (Spanish: geometria) and in English it refers to the 'geometry of the language': primarily, the practice of counting the number of letters in a word or phrase and giving that number symbolic meaning, and the practice of assigning a number to a letter with the alphanumeric sum having symbolic meaning. Words/names/phrases with the same sum have a connect₇₄ between₇₄ them. The Bible and Qur'an were written using gematria. Hebrew/Aramaic, Greek, and Arabic are all alphanumeric languages that were being used centuries before the separate Hindu-Arabic numeric system began to appear c. 600 AD. Ancient scribes writing and reading scripture couldn't help but think of letters, words, and phrases also as numbers and looked for natural connections. In Greek, gematria was/is known as isopsephy, and in Arabic, was/is known as hisab al-Jummal/Abjad numerals.

Simple English Gematria would be the practice of encoding A=1, B2... Z26. The only irregularity in the code is that the circle can be the 15th letter or a zerO, i.e. GOD=7_4 (7O4=GOD). 7/4=July 4 or 7 April: United States Independence Day is no coincidence, its alignment was the result of Grand Master Masons Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Hancock, Samuel Adams, Robert Livingston, Roger Sherman, and others. This is why the US is the only country(?) to write the date month first: month/day/year. G. Washington - perhaps the most famous Mason₄₇ in history - took command of the Continental Army on 7/3/1775 making 7/4 his first full-day as Commander. He would eventually have 74 generals in the Army (33 of which were Masons). There were 74 representatives chosen to attend the Constitutional Convention (19 known Masons would eventually sign it). The Constitution's 7 Articles were written on 4 pages. On the 74th day of the year - "March 15, 1789 - Freemasons (having met at Gatsby's Tavern in Alexandria) laid the Southern Boundary Marker of Federal⁷ City⁴ (Washington DC), making it the first national monument" - History Channel.

This is also one of the reasons why the US is the only country still using Fahrenheit: 74°F is ideally comfortable. One of the reasons the US still uses miles instead of kilometers is that a tropical storm becomes a hurricane when sustained winds reach 74 mph (Hurri.₇₄ Katrina₇₄ reached 174 mph). The US Forever⁷₇₄ Stamp features the Liberty⁷ Bell⁴. The stamp thus encodes GOD=7_4 through 'Step 1': 7 letters + 4 letters and 'Step 2': alphanumeric sum equals 74.

In the State of Pennsylvania, they teach 5th Graders that Liberty⁷ Bell⁴ represents 7/4 = July 4th.

Outside of the US, 7/4=7 April. This day is highly significant since it is the day in 30 AD or the original Good Friday 7/4/783 AUC - the first full day of Passover - that Jesus₇₄ was on the Cross₇₄. GOOD=7__4 and Good Friday=74=G7+O+O+D4+F6+R18+I9+D4+A1+Y25.

Practicing Jews (and others) write God as G-d. This is done because (a) it is disrespectful to G-d to put His name on paper/digital record, (b) if one does write 'God', then that paper/digital record is now sacred and must be treated as such - it can't be simply thrown away, and (c) amongst the Kaballists (Kaballa⁷₄₀, it now encodes G-d=7_4.

On July 4th - 7/4/12 - the discovery of the Higgs boson aka the 'God particle' (GOD=7_4) was announced. Edinburgh University Professor Peter(64) Higgs is the theorist who envisioned the mass-producing particle as a young man in '64. Peter = 64 = P16+E5+T20+E5+R18. Remember that to most Masons there is always a connection between74 the 'God deity'74 and nature/science. STEP #1 of Gematria⁸ - Counting the Number of Letters

'A' is one letter and equals one (A¹₁). 'A' also means one, i.e. a book = 1 book.

The following Greek prefixes promote Step #1 of gematria: bi-(2), tri-(3), quad-(4), penta-(5).  


'GOD' has three letters and this symbolizes the Christian Holy⁴ Trinity⁷ of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

'David', 'Jesus', 'Cross', & 'Peter' each have 5 letters and the geometric cross has 5 point⁵s.


4th Commandment: Christians refer to the Holy 7th day as Sabbath⁷,  Jews/Hebrew pronunciation Shabbat⁷ or Shabbos⁷.

The "666" question of The Revelation Chapter 13 has puzzled many since it was first written over 1,900 years ago! Of course, Rev. 13:3, "its mortal wound was healed" would not apply to Bush Jr., however, Reagan received a severe gun shot wound, yet lived. Therefore, Reagan was the "1st Beast" and Bush Jr. was the "2nd Beast".

The Tower of Babel (Ziggurat of Babylon) story appears to have some illogic in it! Genesis 11:1 states, "All the peoples of earth were of one language and of one purpose". This comes just two verses after "there were many tribes and many languages" - Genesis 10:31. This is the Bible's BIGGEST contradiction! In fact, everyone was NOT united in one language and that was not what was in "defiance of God". Trying to build a tower up to heaven and into the domain of God is what was in defiance then and today. Don't confuse 'heaven' and 'heavens' - heaven is an idyllic state of mind where one is close to God and experiencing great love and heavens is the sky, low-earth-orbit, our solar system, deep space.


The ancient Egyptians were building great structures centuries before the first Babylonian Ziggurat. Freemasons hold the Tower of Babel story in very high regard because from that lesson, we learn the importance of proper design in our endevours, and are led to 'reconstruct' the "One Holy Tongue" that God used to create Earth: English. Masons understand that God - YHWH₆₄ - is the Grand Architect of the Universe (G.A.O.T.U.₆₄).


There are seven aspects involved in the "primary language of the 'plan-it"', then and now...

1. It must connect₇₄ to natur₇₄e. This sacred geometry is most profoundly evident in English! The ancient Egyptians were well aware of the lunar month (moonth) being 29 1/2 days and the 4 phases of the moon being ~7.4 days. They rounded this off to 4 7-day weeks in a month*. "As above, so below". This combination of 7 & 4 was sacred to them and they based their Royal Cubits74 on 7 palms x 4 fingers. (Standard cubits - as used by the Hebrews in the Bible - are 6p x 4f.) The Giza Pyramids and Sphinx - as well as all sacred ancient Egyptian monuments and temples - were constructed using the Royal Cubits of 7p x 4f.

2. Linguistic Theory of Left-to-Right. Kaballist Jews claim "Hebrew is the One Holy Tongue that God used to create Earth" - Zoehar_58/73. Muslim Sufis₇₄ make the same claim about Arabic. But both these Middle Eastern languages flow right-to-left, which is in opposition to the "As above, so below" relationship that their respective ancient scribes based this directional choice on. You see, the ancient Hebrew (including Moses) and Arabic scribes (Muhammad₇₄ couldn't read or write) based the direction of their written language on what they saw in the heavens₇₄: the Sun, Moon, and five 'wandering stars' (planets) were obviously moving right-to-left when the observer was facing the North Star. They believed the world was stationary and perhaps flat. But the Greeks and later the Romans (who got much of their knowledge from the Greeks) and possibly the earlier Egyptians believed the world was round and that it was rotating left-to-right; which is, of course, correct! Therefore, Greek and Latin were written and read left-to-right.

The letters from most languages served as numbers until c. 600 AD when the Hindu-Arabic numeral system was introduced. It's quite the convenient phenomenon that for a couple hundred years now, we have a globally agreed on numerical system (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), and of course, these "universal numbers" are read left-to-right. Written music is also globally accepted and it flow left-to-right. Therefore, we can safely assume that the "One Holy Tongue that God used to create Earth" must flow left-to-right.

3. There must be a pictographic (heiroglyphic) nature to the alphabet, i.e. S = Snake, Serpent, Slither, Slides; S is a Shape, a Symbol, it's a Sign.

mOOn has the two circles - the Sun and Moon - coming together to begin an eclipse. C is the Crescent moon.

M is shaped like Mountains with V being the Valley.

B lOOks like BOOBs, Breasts, or Butt.

l is a line as in parallel.

D is a Dome on its side.

t is the Cross, i.e. Christ.

4. The One Holy Tongue must be phonetic. English is phonetic. We shape our lips to form an O to pronounce O and then write O.

5. There must be 'historical relevance', i.e. Everything Starts with Eve, believe=belly Eve, Sin=S in & Son=S on (mark on Cain). t = Cross as in Christ, Robert=robber t, and (Easter) Rabbit=Rabbi t, etc.

6. An alphanumeric code/gematria must exist that has strong symbolic meaning. Simple⁶₇₄ English⁷₇₄ Gematria⁸₇₄ definitely exists.

7. English has become the world's primary language - it's not by 'coincidence'. In countries where English is not the primary language, i.e. China & India, English is taught to students as a 'second language'.
