Zyxwv99, you are quite wrong on several point(74)s! First, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary is a reliable source for the definition of all words. It is the first step in one's research, but certainly never the last! I can come up with many other reliable sources for defining the standard cubit as the measurement from one's elbow to the tip of the middle finger and I will do so. This is certainly the simplest definition and I've never heard of any other way to measure the standard cubit and I've been researching the cubit for a long time. Everyone's cubit is divided into 6 palms which is divided into 4 fingers/digits. Try it yourself if you never have. This natural design is portrayed by Leonardo da Vinci in his Vitruvian Man. (I need to add that image to this article.) But it's true that everyone has a different measurement of their own cubit; mine is app. 17.76", yours is ----. We don't know how long Vitruvian Man's cubit is, only that Da Vinci used the 'standard measurement' from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger, and that the cubit is divided into 6 palms with each palm divided into 4 fingers/digits. There are existing ancient Egyptian depictions of the 4-fingered palm with the thumb bent so as to align with the index finger. (Is anybody able to provide the image? I'll try.)

The New American Bible (Catholic) states "The dimensions of Noah's Ark were app. 440 x 73 x 44 feet" - notes to Gn 6:15. The Chumash 'Stone Edition'' (Torah +) states that the cubit = 18 in. and 450 x 75 x 45 ft. in its footnotes to Gn 6:15-16. "Figuring a cubit to be about 18 inches" - footnote to Gn 6:15 in The Torah edited by W. G. Plaut (Jewish Publication Society 1962, 1967 / Union of American Hebrew Congregations 1981). Other sources convert the cubit to "almost 18 inches".
The second most important reference to cubits is Moses' Ark of the Covenant, the Tabernacle of the Ark and its ''Courtyard''. Exodus 27:12-13,18"the width of the court 50 cubits''. Obviously, 50 cubits was very important to GOD and subsequently to the Jewish(74) people and followers of Jesus(74=J10+E5+S19+U21+S19).
Sacred Geometry by Stephen Skinner is NOT "full of New Age mystical stuff". It is full of historic secret knowledge that is part of the ancient mysteries, i.e. Standard/Biblical cubits = 6 palms x 4 fingers and Egyptian Royal cubits = 7 palms x 4 fingers. I recommend reading this work to anyone who is serious about their research of the cubits and its conversion to feet/inches.

The conversion between cubit and feet is the 'marriage' of Christianity with Judaism and Egyptian Paganism. "As above, so below". Now all their sacred buildings and temples - Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Luxor Temple - were designed by their best architect using Royal cubits.

5 cubits can be found in several places in the Bible: the altar is 5 cubits wide and 5 cubits long, the Molten Sea is 5 cubits high, the wings of the two cherubim are 5 cubits each touching tip to tip to cover 20 cubits wided from wall-to-wall, etc.

Noah's Ark is found6,300 .feet above sea level, high in the mountains of Ararat; EXACTLY where “YHVH”(63) said “The Ark”(63) landed in "The Bible"(63)!
