This should be a fun interactive teaching series thread for all.

In the Old Testament there are 7 Feasts of the LORD.
3 of 7 of the feasts we are REQUIRED to attend.
The three feasts that require attending are:

1. The Passover
2. Pentecost
3. Feast of Booths

Hi Everyone,

I have heard Colossians 2:16-17 used to say that "We are Not required to attend"

Colossians 2:16-17 says: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink,
or in respect of an HolyDay, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

But that is NOT what the Apostle Paul is eluding to in this verse.
The key is found instead in verse 17: "a shadow of things to come".

These "feasts" are sometimes referred to as "shadow pictures"
The feasts are also sometimes referred to as "dress rehearsals"

"a shadow of things to come" is a reference to the real thing.
And how *WE* now attend these feasts *IS* "the real deal"!

Let me begin our bible study by first citing what Jesus said:

"Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem
is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman,
believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain,
nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know
what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But THE HOUR COMETH, AND NOW IS,
when the true worshippers shall worship the Father IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH: for
the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in truth. 25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh,
which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her,
I that speak unto thee am he." (John 4:20-26)

What Jesus *IS* eluding to here is: We NOW attend these Feasts "spiritually" and "IN TRUTH"!
And that is where our bible study begins - Understanding what Scripture actually teaches!

2. Unleavened Bread (Chag Hamotzi) – Nisan 15-22 (Levi 23:6) …….…. The Unleavened Bread is Jesus, the bread of life.
3. First Fruits (Yom Habikkurim) – Nisan 16-17 (Leviticus 23:10) ………. First Fruits is the resurrection, victory over death.
4. Pentecost (Shavu’ot) – Sivan 6-7 (Leviticus 23:16) ………………….……… Pentecost is God’s HolySpirit given to His Children.
5. Trumpets (Yom Teru’ah) - Tishri 1 (Leviticus 23:24) ………………………… Trumpets is our proclamation of liberty through faith.
6. Atonement (Yom Kippur) - Tishri 10 (Leviticus 23:27) ……………………… is Jesus’ atoning sacrifice for our sins upon (†) a cross.
7. Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) – Tishri 15-22 (Lev.23:34) ……………….. Feast of Booths is our ingathering to the LORD our GOD.

Chanaukah symbolizes repentance ……………………………....…………...…………. Is one's dedication of life to God (יהוה האלהים YHVH is GOD)
