How can that verse not mean (according to your theory) that the
treading down of the wicked would have to be after the burnt Earth.

But even you know this could not be after, if they are burned up first.
Please explain this chronology problem that your theory seems to have?


Look a little closer at this verse you are using to support Scorched Earth Destruction:

1. The verse that it is not talking about "The Earth" being burned up,
but rather its about 'all that do wickedly'.  

2. In more term... It's talking about their works that are getting burned up.

This does not have to be exclusive to offspring - if more is included - then it would
have to include  "WORKS" - which seems to be the focus of what is getting burned up

Hi Ed,

Not quite understanding your question.

Malachi 4 is not talking about the Earth itself being burnt up - the planet will still be there. What is burnt up is the wicked people and everything else that exists (plant life, structures etc), all except for God's elect (chosen). What is burnt up will be as it says the stubble, the ashes under the elects feet.

No it is not just focusing on 'works'. It is focusing on life, existence and all that man has done /created made. Like in the flood when everyone and everything except Noah and his family were destroyed, literally.

Do you believe the flood was literal and that people were destroyed?
