"Alpha & Omega" - what does this phraseology really mean?Hi Everyone,
I want you to watch a few videos on this topic before we begin our discussion. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:" (Deuteronomy 32:2)

"A bad first impression is better than a good first impression" - Ed JHi Everyone:
..........................................."Alpha and Omega" .......................................... ............................the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, ...............which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Rev 1:8)
............................................................(See eighth post on this Link) ."Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD" (Joshua 22:28)
"Ed" (עדJoshua 22:34) in the Ancient Hebrew Script: ᴑ △ "BEHOLD [Ed] THE PATTERN OF the altar of the LORD" (Joshua 22:28)

“For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, ..and have believed that "I" came out from God.” (John 16:27) Hi Everyone,
“And "I" will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And "I" took unto me two staves; the one "I" called Beauty(=Jesus), and the other "I" called Bands; and "I" fed the flock.” (Zechariah 11:7)
That phraseology ("Alpha and Omega") *IS* God's official "Water-Mark" - meaning it denotes the Authenticity of God's word. **BUT** the true meaning of "Aleph-Tav" cannot be understood until you understand what this actually MEANS IN HEBREW.
..............................................
“And [The LORD JEHOVAH(151)] said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and SET A MARK upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.” (Ezek 9:4)

Great topic. When we check into the Hebrew understanding of this, it begins to show up all through the OT with lots of references made in the NT. Yes, if we were to try to translate Alpha & Omega back to the Hebrew, we might render it Aleph & Tav. This is what John would have written in Revelation and what he referred to in John 1:1. He was pointing us back to verse one of Genesis 1:1.

Hi Paradigm,
We see YHVH pointing to Messiah in the beginning: It is good that you follow the Hebrew - seeing that God put his mark, "Messiah", which is called Christ, right in the middle of Berəsheet 1:1.
God's name is spelled: יהוה (Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey) and we know Hebrew letters have meanings. Meaning of the letters are: Hand Behold Nail Behold → which point directly to Jesus' crucifixion
Compare what Isaiah 49:16 says to the meanings of the letters in God's name: "BEHOLD, I have GRAVEN thee upon the PSALMS of my HANDS; thy walls are continually before me." (Isaiah 49:16)
